As subcontractors, we were at the mercy of head contractors in many areas of our business, and needed to be able to effectively and professionally gain some control over what we did. I investigated a number of solutions, all purporting to have various benefits and promises. After working closely with Paula and her team at CAT, I made the decision to work with the “SubCAT” software system.
In 2003, I recognised the necessity of implementing strong work flow systems within our company, due to increase in workload and increase in contract, programme and client administration complexities.

We have been using SubCAT now for approximately 6 years. We spend most of our time subcontracting to larger companies or residential clients direct. This means we need a system which provides good communication between clients and my company and a good record keeping system so I can monitor projects right from their inception through progress payments, debtors and creditors and even productivity of staff. SubCAT has assisted me in providing clients with breakdown costs, variations and progress claims through out the life time of the project.
I need to be able to glance at projects as the data is applied to see what issues are arising. If I have problems it’s only an email or phone call to get assistance. When I needed some modifications to the system to meet an issue unique to my company they obliged and added or improved the application to suit. I have no plans on changing, if anything if growth continues then I knows the software can grow with my company to meet my needs. |

We have found that by using SubCAT we can keep track of all contracts on a regular basis, even in New Zealand as all the information is stored against each job & readily accessible at any time. The after sales service is great, nothing is too much trouble for these guys.
